Steven J. Berry, 70

Steven J. Berry, 70 of Indianapolis, IN passed away unexpectedly at his home on the morning of March 7, 2013. Steven was born to the late Roy and Ruby Berry in Washington, Indiana.

He is also preceded in death by his son Daniel D. and his brothers, Harvey and Danny Berry. He is survived by his loving wife Ruth N. (McFerron) Berry, of 46 years, his son Michael and his wife, Sondra, grandchildren, Sommer, Michael and Cody.

Steven served in the U S Navy aboard the USS Tulare (aka-112). He was a faithful member at Shelby Street Pentecostal Lighthouse Church where he was a dedicated church secretary and worked in the church pantry and feeding the homeless. He worked at Terminal Transport, retired from CF Motor Freight and was a member of Teamsters Local #135.

Services were Monday March 11, 2013 1 PM at Flanner and Buchanan-Decatur and visitation was Sunday March 10th 3-8 PM. Burial followed the service at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery- Glenns Valley, IN.

I have lived in Decatur Township since I was about 5 years old. I graduated from DCHS in 1973, IUPUI's Purdue School of Engineering and Technology in 1979 with an Associates degree in Electrical Engineering and Technology. I am currently attending IUPUI's Purdue School of Engineering and Technology studying Web design in the Computers and Information Technology department. All four of my children graduated from DCHS also.
